CU-TV is currently providing Cambridge’s student body with electric visual entertainment. The aim of CU-TV is to bring Cambridge’s media facilities into the twenty first century, and provide a refreshing break from the more traditional forms. Following the success of Facebook, Spotify and, more locally, The Tab it was clear that Cambridge was ready to join the rest of the world in thriving on online entertainment. 

Since the project was undertaken CU-TV now has its own website (www.cu-tv.co.uk) where a variety of entertainment can be found, from Hot Interviews to CU-TV’s ‘Bare Bulletin’. The station has already interviewed household names, including Deborah Meaden, Ken Livingstone and Jesse Jackson. The channel is also frequented with familiar Cambridge faces such as sports captains, theatre performers and even lecturers.

Within the first three days of its launch, on January 16^th 2010, the website has had over 20,000 hits and on Saturday 6^th March CU-TV was the 21^st most watched channel in the U.K. In just two days CU-TV received over ½ million hits- this is more hits than many websites receive annually. This is a clear display of the channel’s extraordinary potential.

CU-TV is working towards becoming the ‘click’ that every Cambridge student makes to find out what’s going on, where to go, and, most importantly, the answer to exactly WHAT happened last night! This new venture is a step forward in terms of Cambridge media, and CU-TV are finally using the full range of talent that Cambridge has to offer; Cambridge is observed by the public eye, host to guest speakers from around the world, and most importantly is home to a variety of talent.
